Overview

Work location: Tokyo

 

This position is responsible for analyzing and collecting market information to increase revenue and tonnage for sales team, and complying with all regulatory requirements of Japan Civil Aviation Bureau.

Responsibilities
  • Manage regulatory affairs with airport authorities to ensure full compliance and complete documentation for Polar Flights
  • Comply with enhanced policies for Safety and Security by head office of Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB)
  • Comply various type of regulatory reporting to meet JCAB’s requirements.
  • Ensure company compliance with all filing matters. (Season, Month and Daily)
  • Work closely with network team as a local representative when liaising on filings and applications.
  • Work with vendor to set Tariff, Fuel Surcharge and other related charges if necessary.
  • Collect market information for sales team.
  • Analyze and report market volume information by using Cargo IS, JAFA and other sources to sales team.
  • Analyze market yield trend and report to management to share insights for decision making
  • Create revenue and tonnage report of each customers for sales team.
  • Cross check the Allocation file and post flight of Cargo Booking Advice Sheet, in case of any open positions on flights, notice sales/customer service team to sell those sectors.
  • Analyze reason of void position of every flight to enhance sales strategy with sales team.
  • Communicate with other departments on on-going basis.
  • Assist Japan’s Reservation & Customer Service Team & Sales Team when there is a need to support in customer service.
  • Create seasonal PO network’s schedule both inbound and outbound.
  • Work with vendor for data transmission matter.
  • Take care of DHLE/Interline/Import customers like export customers, as they are also important customers within PO network
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Sales Manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in air cargo industry, with knowledge of logistics planning highly preferable
  • Must possess strong analytical and administrative skills and have a demonstrated ability to handle situations independently
  • Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion.

Overview

This position supports the Sales Director with a key focus on mining and growing existing customer accounts with relationship building and longer term plans. The position holder develop and maintain agent/forwarder accounts in order to maximize revenue generation to Polar Air Cargo.

Responsibilities
  • Represent Polar during outside sales meetings and events, arrange and attend sales calls and visits, in which fostering two ways communication to promote Polar products and offers and collect market intelligence and industrial trends
  • Develop potential customers with the guidance from Sales Director
  • Develop and implement the strategy and tactics for each customer, in consideration with local level allocations of global customer partnership program, to generate revenue that meet or exceed sales objective within the assigned territory by coordinating with other Polar Air Cargo departments, including Customer Service and Ground Operations, to match Polar’s objective with customers’ need
  • Actively carry out promotional and loyalty programs as directed
  • Provide spot rates in alignment with pricing policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Accounting and agent/forwarders to resolve short pays, non-payments and CCA’s, including volume weights, and re-weights.
  • Provide market information to Sales team, including pricing, market developments, industry marketing issues, forecasting and other information, along with RFQ/RFP, for enhancement of sales strategy and tactics
  • Manage, control, measure and monitor all assigned territory expenses.
  • Complete daily responsibilities, including weekly preplans, weekly sales reports, expense reports, contract rates, account records, profiles and any other general administrative duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • A minimum of two years of sales experience, preferably in air freight/transportation field, with understanding on air cargo industry, pricing, rates and competition.
  • Proficient in MS office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-Starter, self-motivated with strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Understand and adheres to company operating policies, as appropriate to sales.

Overview

Responsibilities
  • Supports the Supervisor in Identifying immediate problems.
  • Support the station operations by answering questions from the vendor
  • Ensures station compliance of all safety regulations and requirements pertaining to the station, Warehouse, aircraft, facilities, equipment and personnel.
  • Assist in achieving all ground operations and corporate goals as related to performance, safety, service, and regulatory compliance. Ensures all employees and vendors are aware of station and corporate goals and expectations
  • Monitors weight billed to actual weight, completes CCA’s and notifies appropriate company contracts.
  • Identifies loss of pallet/nets/straps, researches reasons and notifies management and/or corporate of losses and/or reasons.
  • Monitors accuracy and completeness of pallets/nets/straps control of information and ensures inaccurate information is updated and any underlying issues are resolved.

    • Ensuring proper loading and weight and balance preparation, including nets and locks.
    • Ensuring HAZMAT is handled correctly, including re-loading and paperwork.
  • Ensures that contractors adhere to company and governmental safety regulations and procedures.
  • Monitors employees contractors compliance with regulations and procedures pertaining to vehicle safety.
  • Ensures that terminal services perform tasks for aircraft to arrive and depart as scheduled.
  • Ensures company customers receive correct freight at appropriate locations within necessary time frames by making certain that freight and paperwork are handled correctly, including freight check-in and paper.
  • Interfaces with local airport authorities to ensure company compliance with all local policies. Ensures monthly reports are submitted to local airport authorities as required
  • Creates and environment that encourages teamwork by:
    • Establishing and maintain working relationships with handlers, terminal maintenance staff and/or contract personnel
    • Informing management of unique or difficult situations.

Responsibilities

  • Strong SQL or Excel skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools
  • Proven analytic skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Excel etc.
  • 3+ years of experience as a systems/ data analyst
  • Demonstrated high level of attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of system troubleshooting
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, strong analytical skills, ability to maintain composure under pressure, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and the overall execution of job responsibilities are all essential qualities necessary to be successful in this position

Overview

Manage the System Deployment Life Cycle (SDLC) of Cargo Management System (CMS) & other sales & operations IT systems, including but not limited to SkyPallet, FreightSnap, DigiDock, etc. Assist and provide input for requirement analysis, scoping, design and development with vendor. Coordinate and conduct User Acceptance Test (UAT) and user trainings; act as in-house liaison for deployment and feedback to vendor for maintenance and continuous improvement. Some of these initiatives would include Cargospot, e-AWB, e-booking, Cargo IMP & XML messaging, handheld scanning solutions, API interface projects & other systems. Position requires frequent communications within and between various cross functional business units, internal IT & external IT vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Lead projects, monitor resources and progress to maximize CMS and supporting IT systems utilization and extend its full potential by streamlining, optimizing and automating the business processes.
  • Liaise between technical and non-technical departments to ensure all targets and requirements are met and projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Communicate with relevant business units, including Sales, Customer Service, Flight Revenue Analysis, Accounting, Ground Operations, Global Capacity Management etc., to understand and design best business processes with the highest efficiency; identify further automation needs and areas for improvements for the systems.
  • Work closely with vendors on customizations and enhancements needed for the system by providing accurate scoping and definitions, detailed and specific user requirements and constant communications with development team to clear blockage and ensure progress.
  • Represent Polar and its business processes when dealing with IT (internal & external), to ensure that the implementation of system functionalities meets the business needs, while ensuring industry standards are met with less customization and thus higher time and cost efficiency.
  • Manage and review initiatives related to system development standards, operating procedures, system access security and control, program change management, backup, and system maintenance.  
  • Facilitate and manage documentations on both existing and newly created policies and procedures using established Company standards.
  • Provide end user support for CMS related enquiries. Coordinate with production support team to ensure timely resolution of any technical system issues.
  • Direct the development of appropriate testing strategies and test plans to enable management to assess the operating effectiveness of the system.
  • Work closely with management to prioritize new projects and related electronic readiness initiatives, and propose corresponding resources into the budget.
  • Maintain version updates of the system.
  • Manage CMS training credential system and update the training when the CMS system goes through significant updates and enhancement in functionality.
  • Support Company processes with regards to financial, accounting & audit activities by providing required data and/ or documentation as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal IT department on various matters of SDLC.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree or above, in Business, Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of experience in IT Project Management, experience in air cargo industry experience a plus.
  • Experience in managing of CMS (Cargo Operations & Reservation System) would be a definite advantage.
  • Experience with air cargo process and IATA standard cargo messaging is a big plus.
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology to solve complex system issues and strong in system troubleshooting.
  • Work experience of SQL programming languages (e.g. MS SQL, Stored Procedures, etc.).

Overview

This position supports the Sales Director with a key focus on mining and growing existing customer accounts with short-term selling and outbound calls. The role will also have a strong focus on maximizing revenue, fulfilling flight allocations and working with our customers to meet their needs while providing a professional and positive experience.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact and key knowledge holder for their assigned account segment, ranging from
  • total account management in systems, like creating and maintaining account profiles, to understanding customer needs such as transit time, special handling rate, spot quotes, promotions etc., and provide professional and competent responses to all calls, requests, bookings and e-booking entries in a thorough and efficient manner
  • Interact with various departments not limited to Flight Planning, Customer Service Center and RFS to reassign cargo to alternate modes as needed by negotiating rates/space agreements, coordinating with multiple stakeholders in order to ensure a positive experience and fulfillment for customer
  • Act as a change agent, applies industry knowledge and critical evaluation of the problems in order to negotiate, adapt processes and create effective solutions wherever necessary, specifically with the re-planning of cancelled flights and managing of downswing based on priority
  • Manage overall allotment performance that includes entering and maintaining allotments in the cargo system
  • Handle complaints in line with the company policy, escalate for management review for any out of scope situations
  • Input and collaborate with internal teams to determine or develop optimum products and logistics solutions for customers
  • Actively carry out promotional and loyalty programs as directed, as well as promoting emerging technology such as eUsage, e-AWB
  • Create documentation, ensure accurate and compliant record keeping in designated systems (i.e. Salesforce, AC/DC, Sky Pallet, Cargo Spot, Special Load requests)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or related experience is preferred
  • 2+ years customer facing direct sales experience, experience in cargo customer service will be preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Availability to work on a flexible schedule (weekends, holidays) in shifts
  • Demonstrated ability of customer service skills, interacting with customers and being client focused

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • High school education or above is preferable
  • At least 4 years working experience in aviation industry
  • Applies understanding of aircraft positions and heights, aircraft weight limitations and aircraft overhangs, familiar in B767F, B777F and B747Foperations
  • Proficiently utilizes SITA, ULD and Flight systems, screens and software
  • Knows and adheres to company operating policies, operations, processes and procedures appropriate to the job
  • Knows and adheres to aircraft, vehicle and employee safety rules and regulations
  • Understanding and uses air freight, terminal operations and flight terminology and processes
  • Uses ability to track and coordinate multiple issues simultaneously
  • Computer literate
  • Basic math skills
  • W&B and DG certificates are preferable

Qualifications
  • High School or Equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in ground transportation or equivalent.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Rules, Regulations and restrictions regarding road carriage of freight in all applicable regions.
  • Must be comfortable and familiar with using a computer and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimal occasion to travel.
